French artist Abraham Poincheval has emerged from living inside a rock for seven days.
Mr Poincheval spent the last week in a body-shaped slot carved out from a limestone rock.
He ate stewed fruit and purées in a stone equipped with an air vent and personal items like a log book.
Mr Poincheval said he hopes the experiment will have helped him to explore varying concepts of time for different species and natural objects in his performances.
The artist is no stranger to living inside enclosed spaces. In April 2014, Mr Poincheval spent 13 days living inside a hollowed-out bear sculpture in Paris's Museum of Hunting and Nature, eating worms and beetles to mirror a bear's diet.
He said his next feat will be to mimic a hen by incubating eggs until they hatch.
