ABU DHABI // Emiratis in Berlin were advised to take care and avoid crowded places by the UAE embassy in the city on Tuesday.
It tweeted to its citizens to carry identification documents and cooperate with German authorities following an incident Monday evening which killed at least 12 people at a busy Berlin Christmas market.
A lorry drove into the market at around 8pm in a suspected attack, which also caused dozens more injuries.

Although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE has not issued any travel advisory against its citizens travelling to Europe, other warnings have been issued in the past advising Emiratis to stay safe.
In September, the UAE consulate in New York issued a warning to its citizens to avoid public places and exercise caution following an explosion which killed 29 people.
Two years ago, the ministry also released a map of "dangerous areas" in London following two separate attacks on Emiratis in the city that year.
