BRUSSELS // Two loud explosions were heard at Brussels international airport on Tuesday.
Brussels Airport tweeted: "There have been 2 explosions at the airport. Building is being evacuated. Don't come to the airport area."
Pictures on social media showed dark smoke billowing from the Zaventem airport in Brussels as people ran for cover.
Images on the website of Belgian TV RTBF showed smoke rising from the terminal building, where the windows had been shattered. It was not immediately known what caused the blasts.
RTBF said the airport had closed followed the explosions.
